The Cebu City Council has approved the Cebu-Cordova bridge project. The cost estimate for the project is PhP 27.9 billion; the project involves the construction, operation and maintenance of an 8.25 km bridge from the Cebu South Coastal Road to Mactan Island. The Cebu provincial government is likely to form a JV with the Metro Pacific Investments Corporation to implement the project. After the agreement is signed, construction is likely to begin by end-2017. The project will be completed by 2020.
