Cebu Manila Water Development, a JV between the Cebu provincial government and a unit of Manila Water Company, has secured a PhP 800 million loan to support the implementation of the Cebu Bulk Water Supply Project. The Development Bank of the Philippines and JICA have extended their financial support via the Philippine Water Revolving Fund. The loan amount will be used to complete the construction of the remaining facilities in the overall design of the project. The Cebu Bulk Water Supply Project aims to improve water availability in the targeted areas of Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Cordova, Consolacion, Liloan, and Compostela in Cebu province, by supplying 35 million litres of potable bulk water daily.
