The Cebu cable-stayed bridge, which was built by ACCIONA in the Philippines, has been awarded the CEMEX 2022 Building Award. CEMEX, a global construction materials company that deals in sustainable products and solutions, recognises the best construction projects in the world for innovating in the application of concrete. The construction project was awarded by the Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEX), a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation. CCLEX won the first place in the Infrastructure International Category of the same awards. The project involved the design and construction of a 650 metre long cable-stayed bridge, which is the longest in the Philippines. While it used more than 0.15 million cubic metres of concrete, its construction also included a series of viaducts and a road section of 5.2 km on the embankment.
