The government of Cavite province in the Philippines has cancelled its USD10-billion contract with a consortium of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) and the Philippines-based MacroAsia Corp to expand the Cavite Airport (also known as Sangley Point Airport) due to insufficient documents.

It has also relaunched a letter of interest (LoI) for the project. The scope of work will include land reclamation in Manila Bay and the expansion of the existing airport to ease pressure on Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The last date for the submission of LoIs is March 30, 2021.
