State-owned Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, Cambodia’s largest shipping facility, received 1.51 million tonnes (mt) of cargo shipments during January–June 2013, up by 15 per cent from the 1.31 mt in the corresponding period of the previous year. Further, the Phnom Penh Autonomous Port, the kingdom’s second largest port, also reported a 30 per cent rise in cargo shipments during the first half of 2013. Based on the report from the port, about 50,517 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) passed through the port, compared with 38,882 TEUs over the same period last year.
