Cambodia will build a 260 km long modern railway line to connect the capital city Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and the Sihanouk provinces. The China Railway Construction Corporation will provide assistance for the construction works, with preferential loans from Chinese banks. It is part of a plan to link the railways of the ASEAN countries by 2015. In the years to come, China will offer additional preferential loans for Cambodia to upgrade its railway system in order to foster economic growth in localities and transport links with regional countries.
