BuhaWind Energy Philippines has received the Certificate of Energy of National Significance (CEPNS) for its three planned floating offshore wind farms, totaling 4GW in capacity. The projects—Northern Luzon (2 GW), Northern Mindoro (1 GW), and East Panay (1 GW)—are being developed by BuhaWind, a joint venture between Copenhagen Energy and PetroGreen Energy Corporation.

The CEPNS designation, granted by the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE), streamlines permitting and accelerates project timelines by prioritising coordination with national and local authorities. The recognition aligns with the government’s push to expand renewable energy capacity, enhance grid security, and stimulate local employment through clean energy investments.
