BP Berau Limited has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional for a carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) project in Indonesia. Under the MoU, Pertamina will conduct a study on potential gas supply and carbon dioxide (CO2) injection in Tangguh for blue ammonia development. The study will be aimed at supporting the growth of the petrochemical industry in the province.
The Government of Indonesia has approved the project’s plan of development (PoD), with front-end engineering and design (FEED) works and project sanctions underway.
Pertamina will leverage Tangguh’s feed gas and CCUS capabilities to produce blue ammonia.
