The Bangkok Metropolitan Council has allocated a budget of THB23.4 billion to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) for building and operating the Green Line extension-2 of the Bangkok Mass Transit System (MRT). The budget will allow the BMA to receive the assets of the and to settle the long-overdue costs for electrical and mechanical work and operations.
The extension will be connected to the Pink Line monorail at Wat Phra Si Mahathat station and the Yellow Line monorail at Samrong station. Additionally, Krungthep Thanakhom (KT), a unit of BMA, owes THB30 billion to Bangkok MRT for operation and maintenance (O&M) services on the Green Line.
