Thailand’s Ministry of Transport (MoT) has announced that bidding for its Pacific-to-Indian Ocean Land Bridge project will begin by late 2025. The project is expected to be developed at an investment of THB1 trillion. Construction works are scheduled to commence by September 2025 and be completed in three phases by 2027.

The initiative will create deep-sea ports in Chumphon on the Gulf of Thailand and Ranong on the Andaman coast, connected by a modern transport route. The project aims to reduce congestion in the Malacca Straits.
