Bidding for the first phase of the PHP 26.9 billion Batangas – Manila (BatMan 1) natural gas pipeline project is likely to be delayed, as the Philippine National Oil Company has yet to conduct a feasibility study on the various options being considered by the government. The options include:
- Bidding out the BatMan 1 project on a PPP basis;
- Obtaining funding from official development assistance in the form of a loan; or
- Administering a grant through contracts with foreign governments.
The first phase of the BatMan 1 project involves the construction of a 100 km pipeline.
