India-based BEML Limited has secured its first international metro rail contract, awarded by MRT Corporation (MRT Corp) in Malaysia. The contract involves the supply of 108 standard gauge metro cars for the MRT3 Circle Line project in Kuala Lumpur. The rolling stock will be manufactured at BEML’s Bengaluru facility and delivered over a five-year period.

The MRT3 Circle Line will be 51 km long, with 40 stations, connecting key areas across Kuala Lumpur and integrating with the city’s existing MRT1 and MRT2 lines. The project is part of Malaysia’s efforts to expand urban rail infrastructure and reduce road congestion. BEML’s win marks a significant milestone in its global expansion strategy.
