Thailand’s BCPG Public Listed Company has taken over Nam San 3B Power Sole Company, which operates a 45 MW hydropower plant and transmission line system in Laos, in a deal worth $113 million (TBH 3.45 billion). BCPG’s investment is through its wholly owned subsidiary BCPG Indochina Company (BIC), which acquired all the shares owned by Laos-based Phongsubthavy Roads and Bridges Construction and Irrigation Company (PSG). BCPG had already taken over Laos’s 69 MW Nam San 3A project in September 2019 in a deal worth $174 million (TBH 5.32 billion). BIC has proposed make a joint investment with the seller to construct and operate the transmission line system and substation from Nam San 3A and Nam San 3B to connect with the substation owned by Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
