BBR Construction Systems (M) Sendirian Berhad, a subsidiary of BBR Holdings, has secured contracts worth RM 286 million for the construction of two bridges in Malaysia. The first contract, for the 11.9 metre long Pulau Sekati bridge in Kuala Terengganu, was awarded by Zainal@Shariff Ibrahim Sendirian Berhad. The second contract for the 1.48 km long Batang Sadong bridge at Kampung Buloh in the Samarahan division of the east Malaysian state was obtained from a repeat client, Pekerjaan Piasau Konkerit Sendirian Berhad. Construction work has already started at both sites; the bridges are expected to become operational by end-2015 and the second quarter of 2016, respectively.
