BASPS secures contract to operate and maintain Mindanao ports

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has awarded Balbagon Arrastre Stevedoring and Porterage Services Incorporated (BASPS) a PHP273 million contract to operate and maintain three ports in Mindanao. The contract covers the ports of Balbagon, Benoni, and Guinsiliban in Camiguin and is part of PPA’s effort to privatise its facilities.

BASPS will oversee both passenger and cargo operations at the three ports. Other works will include managing the berthside operations, stevedoring services, passenger terminals, and cargo schedules, among others, in the facilities.
