Since January 2013, Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited, the operator of the Bangkok SkyTrain, has opened two more stations on the Silom Line as part of its ongoing extension. The two new stations are Pho Nimit and Talat Phlu. Meanwhile, there are plans to invite tenders, later in 2013, for four contracts to build a 19 km extension of the Sukhumvit Line. The contracts, worth about 26.5 billion baht, will cover civil works for the Mor Chit–Saphan Mai and Saphan Mai–Ku Kot sections, the depot, and railway systems.
