Bangkok Land has awarded Northern Bangkok Monorail (NBM) a THB4 billion contract for works on the MRT Pink Line Extension to Muang Thong Thani in Thailand. The company will extend the Pink Line by 3 km and add two new stations – IMPACT Muang Thong Thani Station (Challenger 1) and Muang Thong Thani Lake Station to the line.
Construction will take three years to complete, with the extension scheduled to open to passenger traffic in 2025. Upon completion, the project will help ease traffic entering the Muang Thong Thani area and increase passenger traffic on the MRT Pink Line to 13,785 riders daily.
Construction on the 34.5 km main line has been 89 per cent completed with the line scheduled to partially open in 2023.
