The Government of Malaysia, Iskandar Waterfront Holdings (IWH) and China Railway Engineering Corporation (CREC) have mutually decided to call off the equity deal for a planned Bandar Malaysia project in Kuala Lumpur.  The agreement between IWH and CREC to acquire 60 per cent equity in the Bandar Malaysia mixed commercial project worth RM7.41 billion lapsed on May 6, 2021 due to a failure to meet pre-stated terms.

Under the proposed project, a terminal was to be constructed in Bandar Malaysia for the now-cancelled high-speed rail (HSR) link between Malaysia and Singapore.
