Vietnam’s southern province of Bac Lieu has attracted $4.4 billion investment for upcoming renewable energy projects in the country. The Super Wind Energy Cong Ly Bac Lieu Joint Stock Company will invest VND 8.23 trillion in the Bac Lieu 3 wind power plant with an annual capacity of 142 MW; the Phuong Anh Company will invest VND 15.94 trillion in developing the Hoa Binh 1 wind power plant with an annual capacity of 300 MW while the Dong A-Vatenergy Company and Japanese UIVN will invest VND 13 trillion and VND 13.7 trillion in the Dong Hai 1 and Dong Hai 2 wind power plants respectively. Further, Ecotech Vietnam Technology Investment and Trading JSC and US-based General Electric will invest VND 20 trillion in developing the Dong Hai 3 wind power plant with an annual capacity of 388 MW. Singapore-based Sembcorp Industrial Limited and the Viet Uc Group will invest VND6 trillion in a solar farm. Similarly, South Korea-based SY Group will invest VND 16 trillion in a solar power plant in Dong Hai district.
