Ayala Corporation, through its power subsidiary AC Energy Corporation, and the Phinma Group’s Trans-Asia Oil and Energy Development Corporation are likely to start operating their power plant at Calaca, Batangas, in the third quarter of 2014. The two companies signed the JV agreement in 2011 to develop and operate the 135 MW coal power plant in Calaca at an estimated cost of PhP 12 billion.
