US-based APR Energy has operationalised the 100 MW power generation plant in Myanmar. The facility is located in Kyaukse, Mandalay Region. The plant ensures the supply of 82 MW of the power produced to the Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise. Fuelled by Myanmar’s indigenous natural gas resources, the plant features 68 of the newest generation CAT low-emission mobile gas power modules and will offer one of the cleanest power generation solutions in Myanmar. The contract for the plant, which was signed in February 2014, was the first agreement between a US-based company and the Myanmar government for power generation since the lifting of sanctions against Myanmar.
