France-based Alstom has secured a Euro 13 million contract from Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to deliver a 75 MW turbine to the Thac Mo hydropower station extension project in Vietnam. The contract includes supply of one 75 MW vertical Francis turbine, generator, control systems, and electrical BoP equipment. The project intends to increase peak load capacity by 75 MW to support the existing 150 MW Thac Mo power station. The scope of the project involves design, manufacture, testing, supply, erection and commission of the electromechanical equipment. The Thac Mo power station supplies power to the national grid of EVN covering the southern part of Vietnam.
