The Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) will upgrade the Ca Mau airport from class 3C to class 4C by 2030. Plans for the upgrade have been approved by the Ministry of Transport (MoT) and the project is expected to be executed under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. Work on the runway and taxiway is already underway.
Currently the facility can only accommodate ATR 72 aircrafts. Once works are completed, the facility will also be able to house A320 and A321 aircraft. The facility’s capacity will also be increased from the existing 200,000 passengers per year to one million passengers per year by 2030.
