The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved financing of up to USD1.14 billion for the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge (BCIB) project in the Philippines. The decision aligns with the Build Better More Program, which aims to enhance connectivity and promote sustainable infrastructure development in the Greater Manila Area.

The BCIB project will initially receive USD350 million. The project will also be co-financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Once completed, the bridge will span 32.15 km connecting Regions III and IV-A. The project’s completion will reduce travel time from Mariveles, Bataan, to Naic, Cavite, from five hours to just 1.5 hours.
