The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Cambodia, with a focus on social infrastructure and modern education projects. The Bank reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Cambodia’s development priorities through targeted investments.
The Government of Cambodia highlighted that while hard infrastructure, such as the new international airport and the Funan Techo Canal, remains a priority, equal emphasis is being placed on human capital development. Ongoing reforms in education, expansion of vocational training, and improvements in healthcare delivery are seen as critical to meeting future industrial and economic needs.
AIIB was encouraged to work closely with the ministries of Cambodia and agencies to advance practical cooperation. The collaboration aligns with Cambodia’s broader strategy to balance infrastructure growth with investments in human resources and social sectors, ensuring sustainable long-term development.
