ADB will provide a loan of $55 million and an additional $30 million from its Clean Technology Fund to Chaiyaphum Wind Farm Company Limited for the development of an 81 MW wind power project in Thailand. The company is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) that is 90 per cent owned by the Electricity Generating Public Company and 10 per cent by Pro Ventum. The wind power plant, which will be situated in Chaiyaphum province, is being developed on the PPP model under the small power producer programme. The wind power plant is expected to become operational by December 2016. The power generated by the project will be sold to state-owned Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand under a power purchase agreement (PPA).
