Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV), a subsidiary of Aboitiz Corporation, has launched the Business for Environmentally Sustainable Transformation (BEST) Bus project to deploy electric buses (e-buses) across the Philippines. The BEST buses run on fast-charging lithium-ion batteries and have a range of 100 km. Each bus can accommodate 30 passengers and is developed by the Global Electric Transport (GET) Corporation in partnership with QEV Technologies and EV Dynamics.

Aboitiz InfraCapital (AIC) Economic Estates, another subsidiary of Aboitiz Corporation, has launched the RED initiative within its LIMA Estate project in Batangas. The initiative includes Red Link and Red Pass. Red Link involves a fleet of electric minibuses that provide an eco-friendly transportation alternative within the estate. Meanwhile, Red Pass is an access card to Red Link which will eventually become a lifestyle program that will enhance the experience of estate visitors and residents.

AIC Economic Estates aims to transition its entire service fleet to electric vehicles (EVs) by 2025. The electric mini-buses are equipped with retractable electric ramps, wheelchair slots, onboard cameras, display monitors, and onboard WiFi.

Moreover, the GET fleet of low-emission COMET buses has been launched in Cebu City. This is in compliance with AIC Economic Estates’ goal of promoting sustainable transportation.
