A dual-carriageway bus rapid transit (BRT) system will soon be operational on the Federal Highway between Kuala Lumpur and Klang. The technical studies for the project are now complete and are awaiting financial approval. The BRT system will have lanes which will be separate from those dedicated to other modes of transport. This will ensure zero/limited congestion for buses, and thus will cut down travel time significantly, especially during peak hours. The BRT lanes will be developed on both sides of the highway’s existing lanes. The new system is expected to serve 2.76 million people in Klang, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, and Petaling Jaya.
