ResponsAbility has committed up to USD25 million in non-recourse project financing to Singapore-based Verdant Energy to expand its solar energy portfolio in Thailand. The financing forms part of ResponsAbility’s USD500 million Climate Investment Strategy for Asia, which focuses on private debt for climate infrastructure in emerging and developing markets.
Verdant Energy develops, constructs, owns and operates renewable energy assets across Southeast Asia, with operations in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. The financing is expected to support the expansion of solar assets in Thailand amid rising electricity demand and increased private-sector investment in renewable energy infrastructure.
