ACMobility has partnered with Basic Energy Corporation and Grab Philippines to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for public and commercial transport in the Philippines. The initiative includes the development of charging hubs for electric public transport fleets and the deployment of a digital fleet charging management system for ride-hailing and taxi operators. No project value or overall deployment timeline has been disclosed.
Under the partnership with Basic Energy, ACMobility is developing charging hubs to support electric buses operating under the Iwas Taas Pamasahe Transport Solutions Program. The charging network is being developed along major commuter corridors and will serve both public transport fleets and private EVs. A new charging hub at a Total service station on the northbound South Luzon Expressway will include direct current (DC) fast chargers and alternating current (AC) charging units. Additional sites are planned along EDSA, Newport City in Pasay, E. Rodriguez and Visayas Avenue in Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Cainta, Marikina and Sumulong Highway. Existing hubs are located at EcoOil Alabang and the North Luzon Expressway Total station.
ACMobility is also supplying its ChargeFleet platform to Grab Philippines for its GrabCar Electric and GrabTaxi Electric fleets. The system, managed through the Evro mobile application, enables charging credits to be administered digitally and allows drivers to charge vehicles during shift handovers. The integration is intended as a test for potential wider adoption among taxi and ride-hailing operators.
The charging infrastructure forms part of ACMobility’s broader EV infrastructure development in the Philippines, supporting the electrification of public transport, taxis and commercial fleets. The partnerships are intended to address charging availability and vehicle downtime as operators transition from conventional vehicles to electric fleets.
