The Governments of India and Singapore are working on a roadmap to develop a digital corridor and advance green shipping collaboration, as part of broader efforts to decarbonise the maritime sector.
The initiative builds on a Letter of Intent signed earlier and is expected to lead to a formal memorandum of understanding covering infrastructure development, including storage facilities, pipelines, bunkering systems and green fuel demand planning. The roadmap is being shaped through ongoing discussions between both countries’ maritime authorities and stakeholders.
Officials highlighted complementary strengths, with India offering access to cost-competitive green energy resources, while Singapore serves as a major global maritime and shipping hub. The collaboration is expected to support maritime digitalisation, improve operational efficiency and accelerate the transition to low-carbon shipping.
The discussions took place during Singapore Maritime Week, where both countries are also engaging with international stakeholders to strengthen partnerships in shipping, ports and marine infrastructure. The planned corridor reflects a growing focus on integrating digital technologies with sustainable fuel ecosystems in global maritime trade.
