Founder Group Limited has secured an engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract valued at approximately MYR16 million (USD4.14 million) for a 25.4 MW utility-scale solar project in Malaysia. The project forms part of the country’s Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP), a government initiative aimed at accelerating corporate decarbonisation through the deployment of new solar capacity and virtual power purchase agreements.
Under the contract, Founder Group will undertake the supply of equipment, civil and structural works, as well as testing, commissioning and grid interconnection for the solar photovoltaic facility. Once operational, the project is expected to generate around 53,000 MWh of renewable electricity annually, offsetting approximately 35,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. It is also projected to produce about 53,000 renewable energy certificates that can be used by companies to meet sustainability targets.
The contract strengthens Founder Group’s presence in Malaysia’s growing utility-scale solar market and is expected to contribute to the company’s multi-year project pipeline. The company also plans to pursue additional opportunities under Malaysia’s large-scale solar programmes, including LSS5 and LSS5+, as well as other renewable energy sourcing initiatives in the region.
