The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has awarded Contract Package (CP) 105 of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) to the joint venture of D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI) and Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd. The PHP21.73 billion contract (USD52.17 million) covers civil works for the subway section serving Taguig City. The notice of award was issued to joint venture representative Keiji Matsushita, with the consortium required to submit performance security within 28 days.

CP 105 comprises a 0.66 km tunnel, a 242.2 metre Kalayaan Station, and a 436.05 metre Bonifacio Global City Station. According to DMCI, the package is expected to take approximately 67 months (six years and five months) to complete. This is the first MMSP contract awarded since 2022, following delays that pushed the project timeline by at least three years.

The DOTr is finalising two remaining contracts—CP 108 (Lawton–Senate section) and CP 109 (airport line)—with the aim of awarding all packages within 2025 to meet the revised project completion target of 2032. The DMCI–Nishimatsu partnership previously secured CP 102 in 2022, covering the East Avenue–Quezon Avenue segment. The MMSP spans 33 km with 17 stations from Valenzuela City to Ninoy Aquino International Airport, and will reduce end-to-end travel time to about 35 minutes when completed.
