The Pattaya City Administration has advanced work on its Green Line Tram Way project, part of a wider plan to modernize the city’s public transport network in Thailand.
Three consulting firms — Integrated Engineering Consultants Company Limited, Cee Consult Engineering Company Limited, and PlanPro Company Limited — are conducting feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments (EIA), and system design for the tram network. The Green Line, identified as the pilot route, will run 9.9 km from Pattaya Railway Station through Pattaya City and Thappraya to Bali Hai Pier. Other proposed corridors include:
- Yellow Line (Suburban Rail): Sri Racha – Pattaya Railway Station – Sattahip Port
- Purple Line: Thappraya – South Pattaya – Nong Prue
- Red Line: Pattaya City – Thappraya – Jomtien Line 2 – Nong Prue
Officials conducted field surveys of the Green Line alignment, maintenance depot sites, and potential constraint areas. Public consultations were held to gather feedback, and route adjustments will be considered before final submission for approval. The project aims to enhance connectivity, reduce congestion, and establish Pattaya’s first modern light rail system.
