The Sejingkat Bridge, a 1.28 km cable-stayed crossing over the Sarawak River, is now targeted for completion in March 2026. The RM365.7 million project has reached 54.77 per cent progress, reflecting a slight three per cent delay. He noted that all required materials are on-site and no major issues are expected to hinder completion.

Uggah added that the state government and Public Works Department (JKR) will continue to monitor progress to ensure delivery within the new timeline. While some earlier project issues had caused delays, contractors have since resolved them and are rescheduling work accordingly.

Initially, the bridge was slated for completion by February 2025, as announced in June by Deputy Infrastructure and Port Development Minister Datuk Aidel Lariwoo. Once finished, the Sejingkat Bridge will improve connectivity across Kuching and support regional transport needs.
