Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport (MoT) has confirmed that the Electric Train Service 3 (ETS3) to Johor Bahru and the Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) in Selangor will begin operations by the end of 2025. Both projects are in their final stages of testing and commissioning.
The ETS3 southern line is being introduced in phases, with the Segamat section already in service and the Kluang stretch scheduled to open on August 30, 2025. The last phase will extend services to Johor Bahru Sentral in December. Track works are complete, with signalling now undergoing final checks.
Meanwhile, the LRT3 line linking Klang, Shah Alam, and Petaling Jaya is also nearing completion. Authorities indicated that final system tests are ongoing, with services expected to launch before 2025-end.
