India-based GMR Group has pledged to support the development of the Sangley Aerocity and Sangley Point International Airport (SPIA) in Cavite, Philippines. The project, backed by Cavitex Holdings Incorporation and House of Investments, is expected to generate up to 15,000 jobs and contribute about USD500 million in government revenue.

Beyond Sangley, GMR has also expressed interest in operating and upgrading regional airports in Laoag, Siargao, and Bohol, strengthening its role in Philippine aviation. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) highlighted the partnership as critical to easing congestion at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and expanding regional connectivity.
