South Korea’s LS Cable & System has secured a USD108 million follow-up contract from Singapore Power Group to enhance the city-state’s underground high-voltage grid. This builds on a prior agreement signed in April 2025, bringing the total value of the project to USD255 million.

The new contract includes supplying and installing 230 kV cables and integrating them into Singapore’s power grid. The upgrade is aligned with Singapore’s broader plan to import solar energy from Indonesia and strengthen its transmission infrastructure for renewable energy integration.

LS Cable is leveraging its regional presence—particularly its subsidiary LS VINA in Vietnam, Southeast Asia’s only ultrahigh-voltage cable maker—to support growing energy demands. The company recently contributed to a 100 MW wind project in the Philippines and is exploring roles in Vietnam–Singapore offshore wind transmission projects.

With Southeast Asia’s electricity demand expected to grow four per cent annually through 2035—above the global average—the company sees strong momentum for infrastructure and clean energy-related cable projects across the region.
