China-based bus and coach manufacturer Zhongtong has delivered 70 electric buses to be deployed on Transjakarta, a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Jakarta. The buses will be operated by Damri, an Indonesian state-owned bus operator, by end-June 2025.
The details of the model(s) of the buses supplied have not been disclosed. Each bus can cover a distance of up to 250 km in a single charge. With this delivery, Damri’s fleet of electric buses has increased to 316 buses, of which 116 electric buses are already operational on the Transjakarta network.
