Indonesia’s Nusantara Capital City Authority has announced plans to launch commercial flying taxi services by 2029, part of a smart air mobility initiative. Partnering with Hyundai and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, the project will unfold in phases: a proof-of-concept test, operational implementation, and full commercialisation. The initiative will develop a local ecosystem and R&D centre, with test flights already demonstrating stability. The electric, five-passenger taxis align with Indonesia’s green development goals for sustainable new capital.
