The Ministry of Transport (MoT) has approved a financial package valued at SGD500 million to support Singapore’s aviation sector and help recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The OneAviation Resilience Package will focus on three main areas including personnel support, financial assistance, and support for public health measures, as well as support for industry and workforce development.

Out of the total, SGD390 million has been allocated for cost relief and support for public health safeguards. This includes a six-months rebate on fees and charges owed by aviation stakeholders at Changi Airport and Seletar Airport.

Manpower assistance has been allocated SGD60 million. The Aviation Workforce Retention Grant (AWRG) has been extended for another six months, providing pay support to aviation employers. For the period between April to September 2022, this will cover 10 per cent of salary paid to local employees, which will be capped at SGD4,600 in gross monthly compensation per employee.

The last component of the package valued at SGD50 million has been extended to finance industry and workforce transformation. Through the Aviation Development Fund (ADF), this will boost innovation and productivity, as well as workforce transformation initiatives. This will also support the use of autonomous and digital technology to improve airport operations.
