The Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) has started commercial operations in Singapore. The ITH will connects the Woodlands mass rapid transit (MRT) station to the new bus interchange near the Causeway Point shopping mall. The ITH bus interchange will replaces the previous Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange, which was in operation since 2016.
Of the total 29 bus services running in the interim interchange, 25 has been relocated to the ITH, the remaining four bus services will continue to operate in the interim interchange. The ITH will offer boarding and deboarding areas with sloped kerb edges to assist passengers in wheelchairs and with strollers. The bus interchange also has a reversal warning system to alert drivers when other buses are reversing within a parking space, which will improve safety in the terminal.
The Woodland ITH covers an area of 41,500 square metre and will be operated by SMRT Corporation Limited (SMRT). The new terminal is the 11th ITH hub in Singapore among the existing Sengkang, Clementi, Bedok, Joo Koon, Serangoon, Bukit Panjang and Boon Lay, Yishun, Ang Mo Kio and Toa Payoh hubs.
