Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd (MHB) has announced that the engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation and hook-up and commissioning services (EPCIC) contract obtained from SapuraOMV Upstream (Sarawak) Inc is valued at  RM1 billion. The group’s wholly-owned subsidiary Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE) had been awarded the contract.

The duration of the contract is 40 months and the development will take place in the Jerun gas field which is located in the SK408W block off the coast of Bintulu. Installation of a 15,000-tonne topside, 10,000-tonne jacket, and 5,000-tonne piles of central processing system would be included in the deal.

The SK408W Block is controlled by Sapura OMV Upstream (Sarawak), with Sarawak Shell Bhd and Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd each owning a 30 per cent equity stake.
