Solar Philippines has proposed to build a solar PV facility in Nasugbu in Batangas city. It plans to develop the 2 GW Batangas 3 Solar Baseload Plant Project with a 6,000-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) and 600 MW diesel back up. The company has already secured 2,000 hectares land for the project. Construction is expected to begin in in the fourth quarter of 2022 and be completed by the fourth quarter of 2024.
