Bangka Belitung Islands province has planned to develop a solar power plant in a former tin ore mining area to boost energy supply for driving the local economy. PT Ffaireness Indonesia Daya is planning investment for the development of the 4-5 MW solar power plant, from the potential of 1,250 MW in the former tin ore mining area, whose mining concession had been returned to the provincial government. Further, it is also being planned to convert a diesel-fuel generated power plant into a renewable energy plant in regions without access to fossil fuel for power generation.
