PT Pertamina Rosneft Pengolahan dan Petrokimia (PRPP), a JV of PT Pertamina and PJSC Rosneft Oil Company, has signed an agreement with Spanish Tecnicas Reunidas S.A. (TRSA), marking continued cooperation between Pertamina and Rosneft in the construction and operation of the new oil refinery, integrated in the new grassroots refinery and petrochemical (NGRR) complex in Tuban Regency, East Java. Pertamina holds a 55 per cent stake in PRPP, while the balance 45 per cent stake is held by Rosneft.
The agreement, signed by PRPP and TRSA, targets the implementation of basic engineering design and front-end engineering design relevant to the project. The Tuban NGRR project will produce Euro V quality fuel to enhance national energy independence and security. The oil refinery developed in Tuban is expected to have a daily production capacity of 300,000 barrels.
