The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has awarded a PhP 131.28 million, six-month contract to Schunk Bahn-und Industrietechnik GmbH and Comm Builders & Technology Philippines Corporation (SBI­CB&T). SBI is a German original equipment maker of power transmission railway equipment, while CB&T is a Filipino company that also is a part of the JV that is currently maintaining the LRT Line 1 system.
