The upgrade of the 650 MW Malaya thermal power plant, which was delayed due to delay in awarding the contract for the project, has begun. The project has been won by Korea-based STX Marine Service Company Limited and involves the upgradation of a 300 MW unit of the power plant. The firm has been issued the notice to proceed by the PSALM. Work on the project is expected to be completed by July 2015.
