BSP has also awarded a three-year shallow water pipeline contract to McDermott International for transportation and installation of pipelines and umbilical for the Champion and Ampa fields offshore Brunei. It will be executed in annual work plans as per the budget and development plans of BSP and will be concluded by the end of 2017. Under the contract, McDermott will transport and install more than 62 miles of pipelines, including corrosion resistant alloy clad pipelines as well as umbilical and cables. The company will also mobilise the McDermott Derrick Barge 30 and its other vessels to support hydro testing, pre-commissioning and salvage of redundant risers. Once the installation is complete, the pipelines in the Champion and Ampa fields will allow Brunei to increase its oil production.
