The board of directors at Alaya Corporation has appointed Cezar Consing as the conglomerate’s president and chief executive following his appointment as interim chief on August 15, 2022. Consing, one of Asia’s most esteemed bankers, has more than 30 years of experience in international finance. He started his career in Ayala as a management trainee in the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), where he eventually became the youngest assistant vice president in the bank’s history. Mercedita S. Nolledo, a legal luminary, has been elected to the Ayala Corporation board as a non-executive director to serve the unexpired term of Fernando Zobel de Ayala, who was named special adviser to the board. Nolledo served as a board director at Ayala and BPI between 2004 and 2010, and 1991 and 2021, respectively.
